Power Utility System
Busan metro system has a service substation of 154KV supplied by Korea Electric Power Corporation and junction substation of 22.9KV to supply power for every stations, car depots, and trains.
In order to facilitate power supply in power failure, liaison transmission tracks are installed between transformer substations and have an effective facility for extension power supply.
Transformation System of Power
Transformation system of power is composed of AC breaker, transformer, rectifier to change AC 22.9KV into DC1500V, DC filter equipment to remove harmonics, emergency power supplier equipped with storage battery, controlling mechanism, and other equipment.
Transformation system of Busan metro features a thyristor rectifying method, which can control outputting voltage, keep a steady output voltage, or increase output voltage when an electrical load grows high.
Compared to a diode rectifier, it can reduce the quantity of substation, and bring an energy saving because of directing a braking energy to a regenerative one.
Remote Control System
A remote control system is to monitor and manipulate electrical equipment of substations and unmanned electric rooms in stations.
The system is composed of RTU to collect data and execute commandment, a communicative COMPUTER FEP to link RTU with MAIN COMPUTER, and MAIN COMPUTER to perform a comparative judgement with various kinds of information.
Station Electrical System
Station electrical system is to supply power for stations, car depots, electrized sections, illumination equipment, signals, communication equipment, and other general facility.
It classified an electrical load into three systems : No.1, No.2 and No.3. No.1 and No.2 are for the equipment of power, electric heat and illumination, and No.3 for unit cooler and ventilation inside of cars.
ATS is installed in No.1 and No.2 to be able to supply power at any systems when having main load. And No.3 is fitted in an underground station.
Electric Car Line Equipment
Electric car lines are installed on tracks at a fixed height to supply operative power for trains.
A wiring for lines adopt a different method; HEAVY SIMPLE CATENARY is for main lines on the ground, COMPOUND CATENARY for underground lines, and SIMPLE CATENARY for car depots.
CATENARY method of ground sections uses messenger wire to make HANGER or DROPPER support car line regularly, and COMPOUND CATENARY method uses V-DROPPER between feeder messenger wire and auxiliary messenger wire and fix car line with COMPOSITE EAR between auxiliary messenger wire and car line.
